Who?

Hannah Rudman, founder of Rudman Consulting Ltd, has been working through independent consultancy for the cultural, charitable and education sectors in the UK since 2001. During this time, she has:
•    raised over £3.1m of public and charitable funds for cultural sector projects;
•    commissioned over £50,000 of digital art across all art forms;
•    commissioned £400,000 of digital learning resources; and
•    run £1m+ pa turnover organisations.

Following a background in contemporary theatre, Hannah’s fascination for exploring the cutting edge initiated an interest in scrutinising links between the arts and culture and emerging digital technologies. Hannah has ten years of experience working in arts and culture, aiming to increase the sector’s capabilities in e-business, IT, digital content creation and digital archiving. She has worked with large national arts organisations such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, and Scotland’s National Performing Arts Companies, as well as with arts organisations of all sizes and art forms across UK. Environmental sustainability is Hannah’s latest area of research, interest and work.

Hannah advises on national cultural policy development for England and Scotland, and speaks regularly at UK cultural sector conferences. She is currently Specialist Advisor to the Scottish Arts Council, for whom she wrote “Getting Digital”; Digital and Environmental Advisor to the Mission Models Money programme; Specialist Advisor to IC:Innovative Craft; and Project Mentor to the £1m Edinburgh Portal Project Pilot. She is Project Lead of Arts Council England and Scottish Arts Council’s AmbITion, a £2.2m change programme that utilises IT and digital developments to facilitate the longer-term sustainability of arts organisations. Hannah is also Arts Professional’s “Harnessing IT” columnist; a lecturer at Edinburgh Napier’s School of Computing; and on the boards of Milk With 2 Sugars and New Media Scotland. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Hannah has just founded Envirodigital – an Edinburgh-based change agency that encourages organisations to become environmentally sustainable. Hannah has a BA (Hons) and an MRes in Drama; a Diploma in Computer Science from Royal Holloway, University of London..
